There are also situations when we feel been abandoned by all. In these situations, the palliative care team is there for you to provide a total care and support.

Palliative care is provided simultaneously with all other medical treatments, FREE OF COST. A professionally trained team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and volunteers stand with patients as they seek the answers to some of life’s toughest questions.

Mr. N M Pillai, a socal worker, inspired from the activities of Pallium India and Pain and Palliative care society, Calicut convened a meeting of a handful of doctors and other socialy committed individuals to discuss the possibility of organising Palliative care service in Kollam.

The meeting was adored with the topic presentation done by Dr. M R Rajagopal who is known to have introduced palliative care for the first time in Kerala. This meeting culminated in the formation of a Charitable Trust registered under the SRO, Kollam on the 1st October 2007.
